Outdoor Activities
A lot of the websites will be in this first general page as a lot of the tour operators do many of the outdoor activities listed. When there is a particular tour of interest, I may put it in the appropriate sub-page, but they will primarily list packages with a specific focus. There is also a eco-tourism page under ‘Specialty Travel’ that will have additional resources.
General Links
tourism-carpathian.com.ua/en/index.html
The Ukrainian-Polish Tourist Portal could be much more — but it isn’t. It does have programs (horseback riding, water, hiking, rural and bicycling tours) and lists sights in the area, but the site gives no information about actual packages or how to arrange any of these activities. Many of the essential pages on the website (under the header image) don’t work, though the information sub-pages on the left sidebar do work.
adventurecarpathians.com
Adventure Carpathians seems to offer a variety of outdoor activity programs for western Ukraine and the site is up to date and functioning well. I really like this site. It is also in many languages. A Lviv web portal called them “ambitious,” and it shows from their website. All the pages for the different types of activities give detailed information about programs.
outdoorukraine.com
Outdoorukraine offers hiking, rafting, biking, and eco/green tours in the Crimea and Carpathians. Unfortunately, the site fonts are all messed up so most of the English version is unreadable. The Russian version works though. You can still contact them for more information.
dyvosvit.com/en.html
Dyvosvit is a very good site. It has many categories of outdoor travel activities (caving, rafting, children’s activities, biking, hiking and some more). It also has some good ways of sorting the travel by price, location, type, and duration. The prices also seem reasonable.
allestour.com.ua/site/page14671.html
Alles Tour isn’t that great of site, but it does advertise Caucus tours in addition to Carpathian and Crimean.
terraincognita.info/?&lang_code=en
Terra Incognita has a good site. A few of the pages are not yet in English but they offer caving, hiking, biking, and rafting.
ukr-tour.com/active
Welcome to Ukraine has a well-functioning site, but I hate to list the site here. If they didn’t have a nice website, I would have dropped it, but it does have pages for a variety of outdoor activities. The problem is that none of them have any information. I hope they have something in the future, but the fact only one of the only pages (river cruises) river cruises does not give me great hope. This link will be removed in six months time if it doesn’t put some content on the web.
pilgrim.ua
Pilgrim has about the worst mascot/brand I have ever seen, but the site is actually set up well with many different ways of sorting the information, which is nice. You can sort by category, season, geographic location. Their fishing and hunting packages offer a level of specification that I have not seen on other sites. It also offers winter fishing, gay tours, pilgrimage travel, and a wide range of outdoor activities. All in all, the site works and they do a good job.
accesscrimea.com/activites.html
Access Crimea has a range of outdoor activities on offer: canyoning, biking, diving, climbing. The site is also designed well and the the agency is run by a Canadian and Brit.
Subpages for Outdoor Activities:
